Since young, Wee Ping has developed a keen interest in art. In 1993, she was awarded the EDB-Takashimaya Scholarship to study art and design in Japan. Wee Ping embarked on a courageous journey when cancer entered her life in 2005. Despite the diagnosis, her passion for art and teaching remained undimmed. Each day became a testament to her resilience as she navigated through treatments and their side effects. Her studio, once a sanctuary for creativity, became a battleground where she fought with brushes and colours against the shadows of illness. Yet, amidst the struggles, Wee Ping found solace in the embrace of her family and friends. With every stroke of her brush and every lesson imparted, Wee Ping challenged the odds, painting her journey with hope, fortitude, and steadfast determination. Despite the daunting challenges, Wee Ping's spirit remained unyielding, a shining example of inspiration for all who crossed her path. Every piece of artwork is a celebration of life. - Chun Wee Ping In 2018, Wee Ping took part in the fundraiser event “A Journey of Hope” in support of Singapore Cancer Society. The event, organised by the Guardant Health AMEA, featured 12 paintings by Wee Ping and raised a total amount of $13,500 from the online auction alone. |
